It's a...BOY!!

Today Jerime and I went to Dr. Grimaldi's office and had our first sonogram of the baby. We were just dying to know the gender (I think I was more eager to find out than Jerime), and our 1pm appointment couldn't come soon enough! The nurse told us "It's a BOY!!" Jerime wanted a boy really bad and he was so excited when we found out. Ellie wanted a girl, but I think she's happy with a boy. I called Mom and Ellie while I was waiting to talk to the Dr. after the sonogram and Ellie screamed so loud when I told her that everyone in the waiting room looked at me.

I talked to the Dr. and he said everything is good so far. The heart is fine (we got to watch it beat) and all the other organs look like they should. He said the baby looks like he is growing right along and nothing seems to be wrong. The sonogram's calcuated due date is Aug 19, so the Dr. said we will just stick with his original due date of Aug 20th. As far as names, we haven't came up with one yet. We have a few in mind, but nothing set in stone.



The one above shows pretty clearly the baby laying on his back (at the bottom) and sucking his thumb. Head is marked on the right and the arm/hand is marked at the top.

Update

Just thought I'd post a little update for everyone since I haven't been keeping up with this as much as I should.

March 1st we drew for our winners for the 7.10 Photography free session give-away, and you can check out the winners on our blog. Yesterday we got to do the first session for Mandy Beyeler and her family, and it was great! We thought we might have an issue with the weather, but luckily the rain clouds went away for an hour so we could shoot. Mandy and her husband Trevor we wonderful, and their kids were great! We took them to the falls in Joplin and for being out there close to water and such, their kids were very well behaved! I know Ellie would have been all over the place and not where we wanted her, so kudos to them and their well behaved children! The pictures turned out great, and keep checking with our other blog to see pictures in the days to come.

Baby update! On March 24th Jerime and I go to see our baby for the first time! The baby will have his/her first picture taken by sonogram and we will find out if we are going to have a boy or a girl! We are so excited! As far as the pregnancy and stuff goes, I'm 19 weeks pregnant now and everything seems to be going well. The heartburn has really kicked in though. Also, I'm finally really investing in some maternity clothes, and will probably spend every bit of my birthday money on them! Last weekend I bought some jeans for the first time and I kept telling Jerime "I'm so excited my jeans fit again!" He thought I was silly, but it really is crazy how much better you feel when your jeans fit perfect, even though you have this huge bulge in the front. As far as the baby, I've been getting weekly e-mails letting me know how the baby's doing and such. This week the baby is 15 cm long from crown to romp! I got a ruler out and was looking at it like "wow, that's HUGE!" It's amazing that a baby that size fits right in my belly - and it will be getting bigger! The baby is also about 8 oz, so it's really growing in size.

Biker Babe!

Today was warm and we got out of the house!! Ellie got a bike for Christmas from Mimi & Gogo and has been riding it though Nana and Papa's house (yes, inside!) and I thought I'd go by and pick it up so she could ride it outside. So today we went outside with the bike and rode several blocks. Jerime took the fancy camera out so I'll post any good pics he got later. I just took these with our new camera we got for Christmas (much easier to lug around).

After our bike ride we went down to the park. It was a packed place, since everyone loves to get out on these rare warm days. We did see some familiar faces down there, Austin and Addison were down there (Jake & Amy's Niece & Nephew). So Ellie had fun playing with them. When it was time to go she was NOT excited to leave, so I had to chase her around the park to get her to go home. She screamed like I was trying to abduct her every time I would get close to her. Needless to say she spent a little time in time-out when we got home, so maybe next time we won't have to go through that.

All in all it was a fun day, and I hope the warm weather comes back soon. I sure hate being cooped up inside!!!

Snow Day!!

So today we had a snow day!! Well, not a complete snow day, but a little one. I was all pumped thinking they would close the court today, but they didn't! We got off at noon, and the travel agency was closed today (well somewhat, my boss went in for a little bit). So I got a half a day off. Ellie had her FIRST SNOW DAY at school though!! Jerime's classes were all canceled and he just saw that all his classes tomorrow are canceled! I'm hoping for a full snow day tomorrow! I don't like missing work because that just means it's that much more piled on my desk, but I do love these days to spend with Ellie.

Today after she took a nap after Mimi's house (it's a miracle!), we decided to go out and play in the snow. I think we spent more time bundling up than we did out in the snow! Ellie had fun cleaning the snow off my car, picking icicles off everything, and making snow angels, and I had fun getting the camera out and shooting some pics. Sadly, the snow was coming down pretty hard and it was covering my camera! So the photo shoot had to end early. I've added a few pics I took of her during our party in the snow.

Ok, so I've been really lazy on adding images to share. So here's a breif blog and a few pics from Christmas time I haven't had a chance to share.

First of all, Jerime and I have finally finished our 7.10 Photography website. You can view it at www.710photography.com. We have spent many a late nights working on it and are glad to finally have it acitve online.

Now for the photos. The ones I'm adding today are from December 8th when they had the "Christmas Train" that came into town. Ellie was so excited and we had a lot of fun going through it. I did notice while going through these images that Santa sure had a lot of GermX sitting next to him! But who can blame him, be around all those germy kids and risk being sick on Christmas!!

For those of you who have kept up to date with this blog, thanks! I'm so sorry I have slacked for the past few months. It got really crazy around here with our 7.10 Photography stuff, the holidays, and being busy with work stuff. I hope everyone had a great holidays and is starting off the New Year great! My goal is to keep up with this blog better (a long with a long list of other goals for the year!)

A few bits of news....We're going to have a baby!!! My first doctors appointment was 1/6/09 and the nurse gave me the due date of August 20th. She said I would have a more definite due date after my ultrasound (which will be at around 20 weeks). As of right now I'm 8 weeks along! Ellie doesn't seem 100% thrilled about the idea, but she's getting better. I've asked her several times if she wants a little brother or a little sister, but she gives me different answers every time. I think she'll just have to live with whatever she gets!

Also, my cousin Lora got an awesome job in Kansas City and will be moving up there soon! I'm so excited for her. I know she'll do great and we wish her the best.

My final note for tonight is that Jerime made the all 'A' Honor Roll his first semester back to college! I'm so proud of him!! He starts back up Jan. 15th, which I don't think he's too excited about. Ellie already started back to school this week. She's more excited about it than he is :)

Sorry there are no pictures on this post. I've got some ready from Christmas to post for everyone, but we just got a new computer and the chaos of setting everything up has inhibited my ability to add pictures right now. I promise there will be some soon!
